Christmas: It's about the movies
|
Video and story by: Nauria Wilmore
As "woman on the street" I decided to tell you guys about my favorite Holiday traditions. I just like to be at home by the heater drinking hot chocolate and enjoying awesome Christmas movies on "ABC". Below there is a video on some holiday traditions and maybe even a good laugh with some of the Great Falls Red Devils. |

Hallmark and ABC family are known to be the most popular channels when it comes to Holiday movies. Everyone has one movie that they look forward to every year: It’s that time of year! We will all find ourselves at home at least one day of our holiday break, drinking hot chocolate, looking for something to do. So, turn on the television and enjoy a Christmas movie! Which is your favorite? |
What are you thankful for?
By: Candace Baker - November 24, 2015
It’s the time of year for turkey, ham, and delicious homemade sides and desserts. During this wonderful holiday season that gets us a long weekend to stuff our faces at grandma’s house, remember what it’s all about. Thanksgiving is a time to give thanks, so count your blessings! Life can get us down in the dumps sometimes between schoolwork, family, friends, jobs, etc., but we must remember that there are more positives than negatives. Be thankful that we are being educated and that we have family and friends who love us. For those of us who have jobs, be thankful for the extra money! That’s not all though, there are so many things to appreciate in our everyday lives. So, what are you thankful for? Pageants: Are they tiar-able?

This Saturday, November 21, 2015, Great Falls High School will hold the Miss. Great Falls High Pageant. Ranging from grades 6th to 12th, the competition will have girls competing at each grade level and for an overall Miss. Great Falls High title. The girls will be scored based on their causal wear, formal wear, on-stage question, and teacher recommendations. There are currently 15 girls participating in the pageant, but they are hoping to get more soon. Don’t forget to come out this Saturday GFH and support our Lady Red Devils! |

Breaking down stereotypes: White girl myths
By: Candace M. Baker - September 29, 2015
It is a commonly known fact that every white girl has certain things or acts a certain way. They love Starbucks, yoga pants, iPhones, and Uggs. White girls are usually described as whiney, preppy, sassy, etc. and these girls are thought to have tangents, watch Netflix, and live a simple "white girl" life. These statements are 100% stereotypical. Not every white girl does or has these things. Some do, but they aren't the only ones.
For example, there are many black girls who love Starbucks, yoga pants, iPhones, and Uggs. ANY GIRL CAN LOVE STARBUCKS, YOGA PANTS, IPHONES, AND UGGS. Of course the hardheaded people of today’s society just can’t get that.
Great Falls High students and teachers were asked how they feel about stereotyping white girls, the ones who weren’t camera shy responded:

The Devils Daily is going to do a "Man on the Street" interview once a week, this was a practice run to see how students and teachers respond. STOP STEREOTYPING WHITE GIRLS 2015.
