By Emilee Smarr, Tierra Lynn, & Matthew Trent, Great Falls High School, April 15, 2016
Everyone give a huge "Red Devil" congratulations to Senior, Briana Mahaffee, on being named Student of the Week! Briana was nominated by Mrs. Mitzie Renwick. Renwick said, "She works hard and goes beyond the average work ethic of students in her class."
Ironically, Mahaffee's favorite class is Advanced Comp./Senior Project because it's "one-step closer to getting out." Renwick agreed with her motivation to graduate, saying, "She is focused on what she wants to do after graduation from high school." Her Advanced Comp teacher went on to say, "She is a pleasure to have as a student and a sweet, sweet, person." Outside of the classroom, Briana said she enjoys sleeping. I'm pretty sure the feeling is mutual amongst all Great Falls students, Briana. She also likes to eat lasagna and hang out with her best friend, Raven. When she's not doing those things, Briana said, "I support the school by attending every single day and being a proud Red Devil!" We're proud to have you as a Red Devil, Briana! Once again, congratulations on being named Student of the Week! |
Congratulations to Sophomore, Jamie Craig for being this week's "Red Hot" student of the week! Way to go!

Who wouldn't want to get to know our student of the week a little more? Outside of the classroom, Craig said, "He likes to play basketball, video games, and hang around his family." Craig's favorite color is blue and he loves pizza! Keep up the good work and don’t forget to stay on the Devil Level! |

Ladies and gentleman….
Drum roll please….. Your student of the week is Freshman, Jessica Dutton! The Devils Daily wanted to get to know this "Red Hot" student a little more and find out who Jessica Dutton really is. Dutton's favorite color is red and she enjoys eating her favorite food, french fries. Dutton wanted to include Aubrey, Tasia, Bailey, Travis, and John in her article because that's her "SQUAD!" Dutton also likes to sing and dance, that being said, Dutton will be appearing in the Lancaster Theater Playhouse production of "CATS!" later this month. Dutton was nominated by Chorus teacher, Mrs. Rachel Hoff. Mrs. Hoff stated that Dutton was, "willing and ready to take lead in any role or part whether it being singing or acting." Dutton was surprised that she was GFHS new student of the week. Dutton said that she supports GFHS in every aspect and has a lot of school pep. The Devils Daily congratulates Jessica Dutton again! Congratulations to your Student of the Week, Junior Marshall, Zac Bigham!

One of Bigham's favorite hobbies is singing which we can say he does very well by the way! Bigham also wanted to mention some of his closest friends: Titanna, Bayleigh, Likia, and Ashley. When the Devils Daily announced to Bigham that he was our student of the week he responded, "I'm honored and I want to thank Ms. Bemis for the nomination and kind words." Student of the week: Hannah Mitchell - March 18, 2016
By Emilee Smarr, Sha'Kiya Cook, and Katlyn Albert, Great Falls High School, March 17th, 2016
Congratulations to freshman, Hannah Mitchell, for being named student of the week! Mrs. Fulks says that Hannah is always on her A game and knows how to get stuff done! And is always prepared.
Hannah appeared to be surprised when we told her she was the Red Hot student of the week, but her big smile was infectious amongst the Devils Daily staff that interviewed her! Hannah said, "It feels great because now I know for sure that I'm getting on the Devil Level!"
High school introduces students to a new, wide variety of classes. "My favorite class is math with Ms. Mann because I'm really good at it," Hannah said. Wow! I wish I could've said that my freshman year… well, every year I've been in high school.
Every upperclassman knows how hard it is to be at the bottom of the high school "food chain." Yet, Hannah doesn't seem to have had the stereotypical freshman experience, saying she has really enjoyed her freshman year and that she's ready for her next three years as a Red Devil!
Way to get on the Devil Level, Hannah!

Guess who's Student of the Week? - March 18, 2016
By Sha'Kiya Cook, Emilee Smarr, and Katlyn Albert, Great Falls High School, March 17th, 2016
Congratulations 11th grader, Aaron Rice for being nominated Student of the Week. He was nominated by his English III teacher Mary Bemis.
Ms. Bemis nominated Aaron because "he always does his work and turns his work in on time. She also commented that "he is a pleasant, polite, responsible, young man. There's never a time you see Aaron and he's not in a good mood."
The Devils Daily Staff wanted to get to know Rice a little more, so we asked one of his best friends, John Hall about their friendship. John explained how him and Aaron have been friends since their freshman year. Hall said they are always together. They like to visit the zoo, go out to eat, and just have fun. "Aaron is a funny person and an awesome friend who has always been there for me," said Hall.
When we pulled Aaron out of class to give him the big news he was very excited. Rice said, "It feels great to be a upcoming senior because it's going to feel like we run the school." We asked Aaron what were some of his favorite things? He replied back with playing football, running track, and hanging with his friends.
When you see Aaron around school don’t forget to congratulate him on being the Student of the Week.
Good job, Aaron, and continue to get on the Devil Level!
